PRESENTATION OF BLACKSUN MOVEMENT

…Is there anyone who doesn't think that our society is badly organised?

…Is there anyone who doesn't think politics is corrupt?… S

Is there anyone who doesn't think that our relationship with nature is destructive and damaging?

…Is there anyone who doesn't think that we have lost our connection and our harmony with nature?

… Is there anyone who doesn't think that we now are too many, each individual stressed with his/her own problems, and that we are losing the sense of the word community?…

"Blacksun" is an idea, a new concept. It proposes a change, it is a movement that seeks to better our relationship with our surroundings, our community and with ourselves.

I would like to use an old way to share these ideas and thoughts with you… that of a narrator. Before the invention of the television, people sat and listened to the radio, and before even that, people sat around a narrator. In almost all ancient cultures, societies and tribes there existed a person who had been chosen as narrator or storyteller, and this person not only repeated what they themselves had been taught by their ancestors, the ancient traditions and spiritual beliefs of old, but also new trends, ideas and philosophical influences.

I am happy because I am going to tell you a very special story, the history and origin of our species, a story that may change how we perceive life itself.

It is fundamental that we understand what the human being is, and the differences between us and the rest of the animals.

THE ORIGIN OF MODERN MAN.

An anthropologist would say that the first "human" came into being in Africa, (not forgetting in actual fact, out of a woman!) the mitochondrial Eve. She was a product of evolution born in the area a little further south of what we today would call Kenya, about 150 000 years ago. This woman and those of her tribe, who would not have been more than 2000 individuals, hunted in groups and collected fruit. These people were nomads, they followed the rainy seasons and the animal migrations. One could really say that these people lived with the pulse of the earth, they had to, in order to survive. Everything in nature is alive, and constantly changing, it has a "pulse", and animals are conscious of it and are in harmony with that pulse.

These primitive mammals gradually moved further and further northwards, until crossing the Nile where they established what we call today the Middle East, on the fertile lands next to the River Jordan. Once there, primitive man felt safer in this location, as it was easy to guarantee security and enough food to survive on, all year round. There it is believed is where the first human settlement was created in Jericho 10 000 BC.  And maybe it was also there, that the human mind evolved and the infinite dimension of "concepts" was born. This animal, primitive man, was able to create concepts in his mind, and live an "abstract reality". Human beings began to think in abstract concepts. Humans were able to wish they had more sacks of grain or more sheep, they could name people who were not present, they could think about building a bigger house when they had more wealth. That is what I mean when I talk about an abstract reality, a "future wish of reality" which manifested in the mind, and did not exist in physical reality. The consequence of this ability to reason changed primitive man’s behaviour and cultural instinct.

One main difference between humans and the rest of the animals, is that a human baby comes out of his/her mother with basic necessities like thirst and hunger, but does not possess the instinct or ability to fulfil these basic needs. Man does not have a natural instinct that helps him to live in his environment, and is born without any imprinted instinctual knowledge, while the rest of the animals (in varying degrees) do.

However, humans are genetically endowed with the ability to learn a language and other cultural traits that animals are not capable of. Humans are incredible learning machines. Any healthy baby can be brought up by a family anywhere on earth, and it will grow up learning that culture and will accept it as their own. As "culture" in itself is not instinctive, that we are not genetically programmed to learn a particular one, we are capable of adapting to a new culture. This is a very significant point, we are able to choose how we behave.

Humans lost their "animal instinct" in the process of evolution, but developed something that makes us different from all of the other animals, human beings developed "consciousness".

CONSCIOUSNESS.

To be conscious is to be aware of what we are doing, in any given moment. To be aware of our actions, and aware of the consequences of those actions, in short, to know what we are doing with our life. Is to be conscious of how we treat people around us, conscious of how we treat animals and plants around us…how we interact with our immediate surroundings.

But being conscious implies more; that you are in fact responsible for your actions because now we are conscious.

We should then also realise, as a group, as a society, that we are destroying our natural resources, and we have an obligation to replace them. We are not mining diamonds and crude oil because it is our natural instinct. No. We are mining diamonds and crude oil because we have chosen to be wealthier and more powerful, opting to burn fossil fuels whilst avoiding our responsibilities to replace that richness that we have taken from the earth.

We are conscious of these actions, and we should be conscious of the repercussions. We now have the responsibility as "conscious animals" to repair or "replace" what we destroy. On the other hand, we are in fact "stupid animals" because we are destroying our own home, like throwing stones on our own roof. Animals with "instincts" are in some ways much wiser than us, because they are capable of living in harmony with their surroundings, planet earth.

Our leaders, our politicians are not worried about this part of our existence. They are only worried about earning more and more. More and more earnings for companies, more and more earnings for the director of those companies, more and more earnings for the politicians who help to cover up the destructive attitude, ignorance and injustice of our society. They are not worried about benefits for the earth or for all its inhabitants… no!. They are only worried about themselves…More and more wealth, more and more power so as to be able to control things.

In a primitive society, the leader or chief was someone wise and strong, someone who worried about the fate of the village and its people, someone who worried about nature, somebody who, in times of war, would stride out to fight, first in line - showing an example of bravery and courage.

Look at our leaders,… Do they worry about our village? Do they worry about nature? Would they risk their lives for us? … no comment.

We have not finished our evolution as human beings, we can be something more than covetous greedy animals: we have the potential. We should indeed be on a higher plane of evolution, a higher state of mind, a superior consciousness, wiser and… happier.

We have forgotten what it is to be human, the values that define us as a “humans”; generosity, charity, brotherhood, understanding…

In our culture, in our society, the act of "being conscious" is not being cultivated and promoted, in actual fact it seems we are promoting the exact opposite… "non-consciousness".

If being conscious is "to know", we are being moulded "to not know", or, to "ignore", in other words to be in a state of "ignorance." The society that we live in manipulate us, and they entertain us with "social games": TV, Football, Big Brother, depressing daily news without moral value, direct and incessant bombardment and unending adverts/publicity and marketing…thus augmenting the necessity to consume! They manipulate us so that we have a different perspective on life, and how we think that a life should be lived. They make us think and feel that buying more and possessing more and more things will make us happier… and, as this is untrue, we keep on trying and trying: buying and possessing more and more things. Meanwhile, the people in power achieve their objective:…a blind consumerist society.

I do not think that life should be so unjust and unequal… read the following facts:

* (Today, the 15th of October 2011, the world population is almost more than 7 thousand million people; World Population 6,966,052,392).(*1)

- 1% of the world’s most wealthy adults possess 40% of the world’s riches. (*2)

- 10% of the world’s most wealthy adults possess 85% of the world’s riches.(*3)

- 50% of the words population lives in a state of misery, which according to the United Nations Organisation are those which earn less than $ 1,25 a day, … not sometimes, but every day… but every day, since our "social development". (*4)

- 76% of world consumption (food, electronic goods, clothes, cars… ) are used or consumed by 20% of the world’s population. (*5)

- A study conducted by the World Institute of Investigation into Economic Development from the University of the United Nations Organisation found out that the poorer half of the world’s population owns only 1% of the world’s wealth.

- 5000 hectares of the Amazon rainforest are cut down every day,… not sometimes… but every day, since our "industrial development".

We had a terrible fire in Ibiza this season (Morna, May 2011), the worst fire in the island's history, 2200 hectares were burned in 4 days… In the Amazon Rainforest, between 1988 and 2008, the total amount of forest destroyed was more than 369157 square kilometres.(*6)

… In other words, every day 5056 hectares were destroyed… not in a one-off freak fire, but every day in the last 20 years of our "cultural development".

How can we allow this to happen?! Are we ok with this reality?! Is this how we want life on planet earth to be!?

Now then, we live in a democracy… We are the masses of society, the pillar it rests upon, and so we should be free to choose and build what we like, and we don't want things to continue the way they are. We have the power,…POWER OF THE PEOPLE.

Politicians would say that this inequality is the price of development, but this is untrue. It is nothing more than a lie, aimed to quell our indignation at the injustices of the system. This "development" for which everything is sacrificed, goes to 1% or 2% of the world’s population, who either store away or do business with 50% of the world’s wealth… They never have enough, and all of us are paying for it, at least, all of the poor are paying for it!…

There are pages and pages of facts such as these, but far worse, is that we don't seem to mind. This part of reality has become accepted as "normal" in our culture, a culture moulded by our leaders, our politicians, those whose main concern is economic profit. I'm sorry, I think this is just wrong. We are a species who can adapt to almost anything, but we must also be conscious of that fact…

Firstly we should be aware of "how we are", and why we are "this way". Then we should become aware and be conscious of the current situation, and then we will be able to think clearly,…and start the change.

THE MOVEMENT…

The Blacksun movement is here to orientate, to guide. To help people grow and develop their awareness, their personal power and their knowledge of themselves, others, and the world around us, wisdom.

The Blacksun movement is here to unite us.

We are not here to tell people what they have to do. We are here to listen and to help open our eyes to what is happening. We have the strength and the determination to create a group for people who are ready to take a step forward and start the necessary changes so that this movement can grow.

In this way, we can all work together in the right direction. We might be capable of changing, little by little, the corrupt tendencies of our society.

We can make a change. Many people in the world are ready for the change and many people in the world are waiting for another option to arise and initiate a change. However, sometimes changes do not "arise", they are "made", one has to "act", to do them.

We can grow, develop and change our attitude in life. We should become the best we can be and elevate our awareness through working and standing united for what we believe in.

STARTING THE CHANGE.

How can we help produce the changes we want to see?

We can't change society directly, the word "society" is a concept which symbolises something real; the dynamic of a group of people.

If we change our behaviour, the "society" will follow. It’s like a shadow underneath a tree; you can’t touch it or grab a hold of it, but you can clip the tree into a different shape and thus change the shadow. Until now we have followed the trend, (we have been the shadow) of a society manipulated by unscrupulous people without any moral values, whose only objective is the profitability of the economy for their own benefit. We have to model the society around our needs (for that 98% of the world's population), not around theirs. Now this society wants to look after the planet, now this society wants to look after the people on this planet, now this society is focused on our well-being.

How are we going to achieve these changes?

How do we start a human movement? … taking steps, right?

… Ok, lets take 5 steps forward:

1. BE AWARE, "KNOW" OUR SITUATION AND HOW WE ARE.

2. BE AWARE, "KNOW" THE CAGE THAT TRAPS US, OUR CULTURE.

3. BE AWARE, "KNOW" THE POWER OF A PEOPLE IN UNION.

4. BE AWARE, "KNOW" HOW TO GET OUT OF THE CAGE, AND BE FREE IN      THOUGHT AND DEED.

5. BE AWARE, "KNOW" HOW TO CREATE A HARMONIOUS ENVIRONMENT, A WISE AND FREE CULTURE.

We are not prepared or educated to live life in a different way. We are "programmed" by our culture to work and see things in the way we do. Reading about the Blacksun movement we will understand, we will gain the knowledge necessary to make the changes we want to see happen within ourselves, in our culture and in our environment, in a natural way.

Blacksun is not a religion, it’s not a sect and you don't have to believe in anything… Quite the contrary; it is a method one can learn, learn to be wiser and free. Faith is necessary in religions, because one cannot see what one is being told to believe in… you have to believe it is there. In a method, you are able to see the results of the actions you have taken. It’s very different. For example, in an event if you do one thing, a consequence will arise from that action. If you plant a seed, a plant will grow, you don't have to "believe" in anything divine for that to happen. Plant it, water it, and if you have done everything necessary, following all the instructions, it will grow.

The Blacksun movement is a mind-opener, a growth in consciousness, a step forward in our history. We can’t carry on making more mistakes, we cannot afford to, and neither can nature, this is our last opportunity before we destroy ourselves and this beautiful planet where we have been born, that doesn't even belong to us.

But, if you ask me: "What can I do now to make things better?" I would say: "Don't do anything, continue living your life normally, and carry out your responsibilities; towards your family, your work, social duties etc… But join this group". By joining you are not compromised into doing anything, nothing physical or active is required of you. What we have to do now, is read, understand and unite. Unite in thought, create a group, a movement. Subscribe to our web-page or simply consider yourself part of the group and follow the events, read the "method". Understand how us humans are, how culture was created, how we are conditioned by our culture, how we can evolve, how we can grow, how we can rediscover the power we all have to change our reality… Now, the most important thing you can do is to unite and make this group grow, because things like this take time to achieve. Maybe in a few weeks there will be thousands of people, and after that we will be millions. Understand the Blacksun movement, it will make us free to make the correct changes. Once this group of people is big enough, we will have power, the power to decide things about our life now, and our future.

You can't “make” power, power grows, like a strong tree: first is the planting of the seed or cutting, then we have to water it and look after it (luckily we already have a sun!), and then we are going to read and understand the movement to make this "tree" grow. As we start to understand the philosophy of this movement, we will gain an understanding of reality, and a security in that we know what is happening in and around us. When this tree is big enough,…it will give shade to everyone. No-one will be able to cut it down because its roots are understanding, knowledge, love and humanity… there is no illness or greed that can attack those roots, those pillars. For this to occur,…we have to unite all of us, all of us that want a fair life and a green planet for ourselves and the next generations.

We are that 98% of the population, don't be scared, all we have to do is unite as a group. Read and understand the philosophy of Blacksun, without violence, without protests, without doing anything more than "watering our tree", that’s not prohibited is it?! Unite from your workplace, from the kitchen, from your car or your boat… "water the tree" that will give shade to all of us,… knowledge. Reading and understanding the Blacksun movement, there will grow inside you a new vision of life and the knowledge to make the necessary changes. The tree will grow by itself, without violence or conflict, you only have to water it… it’s a natural process, like our evolution and liberation.

No-one will be able to cut it down because its roots are understanding, knowledge, love and humanity… there is no illness or greed that ca

…Is there anyone who doesn't think that our society is badly organised?      …Is there anyone who doesn't think politics is corrupt?… Is there anyone who doesn't think that our relationship with nature is destructive and damaging?… Is there anyone who doesn't think that we have lost our connection and our harmony with nature?… Is there anyone who doesn't think that we now are too many, each individual stressed with his/her own problems, and that we are losing the sense of the word community?…

You will find all the ideas fully developed

in the website, as well as in the books,

talks and conferences…

Knowledge sets us free, it frees us from ignorance. I think it’s about time that together we start a movement, take a step forward, and develop to our full potential. The world in which we live is not how it should be, we deserve more, the world deserves more. It’s in our hands to unite and make the changes. All we have to do is realise that we are free,…or are we still not free?… It depends on you.

THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME

TO READ THIS

old way to share these ideas and thoughts with you… that of a narrator.
